faux cupcakes!! I've turned them into photo holders and will be selling them at Relay For Life this weekend. These are so fun!! Here's the photos:
64 Large ones done, 24 mini cupcakes.... I'm done with the large ones but I'm going to make another batch of mini ones and call it a day.
Any ideas on pricing??
Awesome job! They are lovely.
Enjoy for we will never have this day again.

No, she needed a little wine to put up with her lovable but crazy children and the big one she's married to...just guessing here!

Wow! They look so real and DELICIOUS. I feel like having a cupcake just like those, but I'll have to go out and get one.
Mary Love is all around you.
Cool! How did you make them??
Trish ~ It's all fun and games until somebody loses an EYELET!

No wine involved, but Starbucks was needed after a few hours of it. It's fun but kinda stressful, you have to hurry or the plaster locks up on you. I lost one batch due to it, and then learned to go in smaller batches after that.

Ummm.. I don't know what her recipe is, I got the idea from the photos on here, yes, but I looked online and found a recipe from CakeSpy.com that I modified. It's just Plaster of Paris, water & acrylic paint in cupcake liners & the photo holders are retwisted paper clips. I mixed the "cupcake batter" first, let it sit for about 45 minutes (by the time I finished pouring all 5 pans of cakes) I mixed up the "frosting" a little thicker and went back in the same order. I had an assembly line process going which helped.
I'm thinking that I'll sell the large ones for $3 ea and the smaller ones at $1 ea.; If that doesn't go over well, then we'll drop the price.
