Do you journal on your pages? I looked through the gallery and saw mostly layouts with one or two pictures on them with lots of embellishments. Is that how all your pages look? I just don't see any journaling and was wondering.

I journal on ALL of my layouts, but that's my style. Journaling comes easy to me, and I think it's necessary for me to tell my story most of the time. The pictures are usually not enough for me - I have to write about the funny details, the places, how I felt, etc... I guess it depends on why people scrapbook. I scrapbook to preserve stories. I know many people scrapbook purely for the artistic outlet.

I never did much when I first started, but now I decided when I'm deadsy, Quinn is not going to remember the story of her first playhouse when she was one, so I better write it down! So now, I don't write a whole novel, but I do write more than I ever used to.
That's why I scrapbook too...the preserve all the memories from my life to share with my children or friends years from now. I journal on everything too. I don't think pictures are enough.lilkoala3 wrote: I journal on ALL of my layouts, but that's my style. I journal in my head...can't you SEE that?
Sigh. In other words, I have big plans to journal and some day I'm going to sit down and add it to most of my LOs. I really should make it a rule that I can't post it till it's journaled, then maybe I'll do it.
Like Sarah said...one day my kids won't know what's stored in dear ol' mum's brain.
(btw Sarah...love the word "deadsy"!!)

There are plenty of layouts in the gallery with journaling on them, and even more with hidden journaling (so you'll never know).
For me, whether I journal on a page or just put names and dates really depends on my page - a lot of times I've already told the stories on other earlier pages, and when I get to my "extra" pictures that I still want to scrap but no longer have any pressure about telling a story then I concentrate more on design, etc. Usually I do my story layouts first, then after I get through an event, vacation, etc I move on to use the rest of the pictures for non-story purposes. It's hard to see that when you're looking at individual layouts in the gallery rather than albums in someone's home.

I try to journal on most of my pages. If the photos tell the story without journaling, then I don't include it. I think it depends on the scrapper. Also, some people do hidden journaling.

I try and journal on most pages, even if it is just the basics.. who, what, when etc

I also journal on most of my layouts. I love to write and will sometimes have the journaling written before I've thought about the LO.
I journal on most of my pages unless the title says it all - which is rare.

I will journal on the page, on a hidden tag or I will make a card and
mount my pic to the front and hide the journalling that way. I would
say that 99.9% of my pages have journalling.

I try to add journaling, a weak spot of mine. I usually write the basic- people, place, date, occasion. Sometimes, if I post a layout in the gallery, I add the journaling afterwards.
I usually attach journaling to the back of my paper pages. Mainly it's because I don't have room on a page to tell an entire story.
I hardly, if ever, journal. If I do journal, it's a few brief words or it's hidden.

Hi. It depends on the photos for me.. Sometimes i will write a lot.. other times, just a date and location, maybe the names of the people in the pics will be fine.
hardly ever do i journal...and i really should start. but, i hate my handwritting!

alot of my journaling is hidden...sometimes it just makes the page flow better...but I do journal on most every layout.
I'm an on again off again journaler. haha. Some pages have it and some don't. I'm really not good at journaling, so I find it hard to put down words I'd be happy with.
