 For most of you I this may not sound strange but..... I got a call from the school this morning soon after I dropped Kimmy off that she slipped on a PATCH OF ICE at pe and they think she may have broken her wrist again-----
the strange part is that we live in CENTRAL FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After spending the day in the doctors offices and the radiology office we still are not sure if it is broken. There is a dislocation of the growth plate of the wrist, but she broke the same growth plate area last November ( 13 months ago)
and there is quite a bit of swelling..so they put her in a splint for a week and we go for more x-rays next Thursday after the swelling has gone down and they will decide if they are going to cast her then.
But I am telling you it is just crazy to slip on the ICE in Florida and break a bone!!!!!!!!!!!!!   By the way it was 21 degrees outside this morning so why on earth were they outside at pe in the first place...it is not like we are used to this weather!

That is crazy weather. We had about 9 - 10 days of temps in the 80's. It's never this warm in Jan here in CA. But it's cooler since yesterday & raining off & on today.  Poor Kimmy. I really hope it's not broken.

 I hope Kimmy is okay.....you have ice in Florida?!?!?!?!?!  What the......

 I hope Kimmy is feeling OK. If Florida is freezing, next is africa, then hell

 I hope Kiimy's wrist is not broken.

 Poor thing.  It is crazy that they are out at PE when the weather is 21 degrees.  Here in NY, my son's school does not let the children out if the weather is below freezing.  Hope Kimmy recovers real soon.

 Wow - that's unreal that you have ice in Florida!

I fell on the ice in 2007 and didn't break my wrist - but hyperextended it/sprained it.  Took longer to heal that a broken one.  Hope she heals fast!

 I had a broken wrist a couple years ago.  Didn't enjoy it at all.  I hope she's okay.

 Poor thing!  They should have checked for ice with the temps that cold!

Teachers send the kids out for recess to burn off all their energy. But even here where it does get cold they don't send them out at that temperature.

 Poor thing!  Hope she will be ok!!!  Even in cold Michigan, kids do not go outside at school if it is 32 or below.

WTH was the PE teacher THINKING???

How many kids down there even have the appropriate outerwear for THAT kind of weather, seriously??

I hope she's going to be okay.

 That is just plain stupid!@!  What the heck are they thinking!!!  Hope she is doin better but boy a bad sprain is worse than a break!! more painful too!!   That pe teacher needs his or her examined for taking those kids out in what they certainly are not used to!!!  AND i cannot believe ice in florida~ we are used to cold cold in mi but geeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
