Does the Opposites Attract font cartridge enable me to connect the letters into full die-cut words? Any cartridges do that?

If you have the Design studio you can connect them. Otherwise, they come out individually. Several cartridges have words that are connected, but it is only the selected words that are on the keyboard and not just any word of your choosing.

You can connect the cursive letters of OA as you glue them down, but it doesn't weld them together, no. Most cartridges will have a few words or phrases on them that are welded together, but to be able to weld just any word yourself, you have to have Design Studio. HTH!

Thanks for your help. I love when the letters are "welded" to form words, so my next big purchase may have to be the Design Studio. Does this plug into the jack behind the Cricut that looks like a phone jack?

With the DS, you should get a cable to connect your Cricut to your computer. The instructions will show where it is to be connected.
