I have come to the conclusion that it is not possible to pack enough stuff for 2 adults for 10 days into one large and one medium suitcase. I was going to make DH pack his own stuff when he gets home, but to hide the fact that I've taken up too much of the luggage for myself I had to pack his stuff too. I can think of five more things I need to pack, but I'm not sure how I will fit them. DH says I MUST fit everything into these two suitcases. This is insane. That's not how I travel.
By the way, I'll be gone for a while. We're headed out on vacation, we'll be back in 10 days.
Crap, I just realized I didn't pack DH's shoes. How is this ever going to work?
men don't need more shoes than those on their feet.
Have fun.
Do I have your #"s??

I've been told that no one will have my #'s. I'm not allowed to bring my phone, because of the whole roaming deal. You may have to call the consulate. My mom is not thrilled either. I don't know what to do about this, I don't know how to be out of contact with people for 10 days. I have to go through my phone and write down all the numbers I need to take with me - these days that's the most updated address book I have. I might be freaking out just a little bit right now.
Can you take things that can be washed out in the sink and dried overnight?
That helps tremendously.

If life gives you lemons, go find an annoying person with paper cuts.
Uhmmmm, have fun and buy a phone card!!! There is no way I would be without a phone for that long and I don't even talk on the freakin' thing!! Seriously!!
Oh, and he doesn't need more than one pair of shoes!

Is it ok that I'm giggling at you?
I agree...one pair is enough. Can you have a carry on? Are you flying? Where are you going?
Geez...enough questions for ya...?
I hope you have fun. I couldn't live without my phone either...good luck with that!

Where you going Tania? They're right...as long as dh is wearing shoes when you leave, he'll have enough!
Tell him if you take two big pieces of luggage, you'll have room for the clothes to expand when they're dirty ...doesn't he know that happens?
Have a great trip...take your phone with you so you can look up numbers, just don't answer it!

jeez sounds intriguing and challengeing and probably lots of fun. But on that suitcase thing . . . . . . jeez Louise.

Have you tried one of those vacuum storage bags?
Don't laugh, I'm serious! The medium one I bought fit a whole buttload of 80's humungo-shoulderpad office clothing. Might be the answer to your packing woes... just, make sure the stronger half caries it, they're small, but very heavy

Yes, I totally agree on the vacuum bags! You can get them at Bed, Bath & Beyond- even at WalMart & Target. Your stuff doesn't even get wrinkled. They're like magic. You need one, trust me!discomposed wrote:Have you tried one of those vacuum storage bags?

I will 3rd the vacuum bags- they make packing so much easier-- then you might make enough room to bring Dh some shoes-- if you really think it necessary fro him to have more than one pair. I say bring the phone, but only turn it on to check messages and your addy book- no way I would be without mine. Have fun by the way!!!!!!!!!
but where is she going to get a vacuum on the way back?
You can ask the hotel staff. The small travel size space bag is set up where you can roll it to get the air out if needed.ArmyWife95 wrote: but where is she going to get a vacuum on the way back?
The vacuum bags sound like a great idea.
Where are you off to? Sounds like it might be somewhere exotic. Have a great time and looking forward to seeing some great pictures!

What you need are those bags made by the vaccuum bags that are for travel and sports. They are a little smaller to fit in a suitcase and you roll them to get the extra air out. I've used them and they work great. Good luck and have fun.

Go with the vacuum bag cause you know you will want to bring stuff home from the trip.....have a safe trip and a good time!

Have fun! Try to just pack the outfits you know you will wear and don't bring extras, you can always repeat outfits. Don't forget to leave room for all the stuff you will buy.
Have a great trip! Dh doesn't say anything about how I always overpack, he used to say do we really need all these bags, but he just learned its how I pack and was happy I packed some things he didn't think he needed that he ended up needing.
