I must make myself go

to school, that is.  I have approximately 20 boxes of art supplies to unpack and put away, not to mention I have to reorganize my room now that the custodians are done waxing the floors.  I need to do some of it, since it is an all day job, and it is raining right now, so my room shouldn't be too hot.  This is not fun. (Well, except for opening the boxes...that is like Christmas! :))  LOL!

Is it sick that the idea of opening and organizing art supplies completely thrills me!?  Good luck! :)

Yeah...I love opening the boxes.  It's the finding places to put them away that is not fun.  LOL!

I don't know what I would do if I was an art teacher.  I would be like a kid in a candy store!!!

Well, I made it.  It took me about 4 hours to unpack all the boxes and put the stuff away...not to mention having to track down 10 boxes from one company because our secretary (who quit this summer) forgot to put the high school address on the purchase order, so it was all shipped to the middle school!  Then, the genius secretaries over there, not noticing that the boxes were addressed to me, unpacked about 3 of them in the library and mixed all my stuff in with the general school supplies for the elementary!  Didn't they wonder why there were things ordered that they never get or not enough for a whole class (because I am replacing things that were used up)?!  Oh, well, I hijacked my stuff back and I'm only missing 3 items, now.  What a mess!  I have a feeling this school year is going to be this way, because they are still trying to hire a replacement secretary (the one who runs the high school office!) and a new middle school principal (which I'm happy about, but coming in less than 2 weeks before school starts doesn't bode well for a middle school that is already disorganized. :?

Oh man what a mess.  Glad you got it all figured out though and maybe those 3 things will show up soon.  I would hunt for them. :)

Sorry that your summer is almost over, Laura, and what a mess with the secretaries! They probably just didn't bother to read the label.

Wow! How did they NOT realize the supplies were for someone else? That's rude... Glad to hear you retrieved the majority of them back though!

I have spent the past 2 days getting my room ready. And then going home at night to finalize lesson plans and all that jazz so I totally feel for you!
That really sucks about the middle school not even realizing they had your supplies, I would have been annoyed. Glad that it got straigtened out and I hope the other three things turn up. We have been receiving shipments for a week now and I LOVE opening them up and playing with all the new items :)

I went into school today and my room looks exactly the same as the day I left in June...they said the MIGHT get to the floors next week. Guess I can't start getting my room set up....awwwwwwww, shucks!! LOL! I do need to start thinking about plans since they butchered my schedule (again!). Our students don't come back until Sept. 2nd.

I'm jealous, Nicole!  Our kids come on August 20th, and we have two teacher workdays on the 18th and 19th (not that I could get everything done in 2 days!)
