Apple sauce.  Peal and core apples.  Cut into chunks.  Put in slow cooker with a stick of cinnamon.   Let it cook.   That's all there is to it.   Add some brown sugar if you need to - but taste before you do.   Freeze.

I use a 9x13 inch pyrex pan to bake these, but I put it on a cookie sheet, in case it bubbles over! ;)  If you like your dumplings less "gooey," make the syrup with 1.5 cups of sugar and 1.5 cups of water.
These are in the oven as we speak!

Yum...you will not be sorry. :)  If you have vanilla ice cream to make them a la mode, even better!

I didn't do ice cream, but I did add cream cheese icing.....fabulous!

I saw that and never would've thought of it.  I will have to try it next time because it looked yummy!
