Oh how sad. I knew he was very ill but it's still so hard to lose someone like him!
This been a sad year.. With him passing away and Farrah Fawcett.. They fought so hard to live.. Just so so sad.. But they are both at peace now and not in any pain anymore.. Just feel so bad for there children/friends/wife/husband.. May they rest in peace.

Way too young.

One of my favorite actors. He will be missed. May his memory live on thru his goodness and work.
I'm so saddened to hear this. He was a truly wonderful actor and seemed like a very genuine person. I was hoping he could beat this!

R.I.P. Patrick! Loved him!
I used to be a "celebrity cherry", but now I'm in re-hab...... Holy Carp!
I knew it was coming, but when I heard the news late last night, I was still shaken. I loved all his movies. Didn't ever know him personally, of course, but he just seemed so down-to-earth and normal that I liked him even more.
I wonder, sometimes, if we ever give God a headache.
Thanks for the background, Kim. How fortunate you were to have met such a nice man through your love of horses. I'm sure his passing is very hard on lots of Texans today.killarney_rose wrote:I just got really angry with a telephone call interview between Anderson Cooper and Barbara Walters and Anderson Cooper.
She said Patrick Swayze was a cowboy. That couldn't be further from the truth.
What Texans consider a cowboy and the definitions. And Buddy is and was a die hard Texan.
Cattleman or Cattlewomen - one who has cattle and raises cattle for beef. Continues learning the best and most profitable way to raise beef to maximize profit while concerned with the health and welfare of their cattle. Are horses used to work the cattle, yes, but not to just play with them.
Cowboy - one who plays with cattle.
Horseman or Horsewoman - one who studies horses, is passionate about their correct care, one who never stops learning about horses.
A cowboy eats lives and breathes to have an excuse to rope a cow.
Buddy had Arabians, he lived for Lisa and his horses in that order. Third was his work in the movies and television. He never stopped learning about the bloodlines of the Arabian Breed, loved the history of the breed and fell in love with the Straight Egyptian Arabians through Tom & Rita McNair who he met through his mother's dance studio. Tom and Rita had their children enrolled in the dance studio at the time Tom was training for Glennloch Farms. I remember Buddy smiling as he said he so wished he could control his nerves in the show ring.
Sorry, I just had to vent.....Buddy was a great horseman.....and not a Cowboy!

I'm so sorry he passed. He fought a good fight. I'll always enjoy his movies.
Mary Love is all around you.
so sad...but atleast he is not suffering anymore
He sure put up a strong fight & I'm glad he lived as long as he did. Pancreatic cancer takes lives very quickly. Just wish he could have had a few more years. May he RIP.
It was an admirable fight, I must say. Very sad.
So sad, my heart goes out to his wife of 30 years, they seemed to truly have one of the few wonderful Hollywood marriages. RIP.
Have a coke and a smile!
