The BIRTH of a shooting star ;)

Post by joeybrat2 »

Our DAUGHTER has arrived! Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 4:36 am. Weighing 7lbs 3.1. ounces. 20 inches long. Ceridwen Ariadne (Pronounced Ser-ID-When and Ari-ODD-knee)

She literally SHOT into this world. We were at the hospital (with contractions more then 20 minutes apart) for 1 hour and 41 minutes before her birth. 100% natural birth, and completely traumatic for me. There was just no time for another way. My contractions never got closer then 20 minutes.

4 pushes and she came flying into the world, bounced off the doctor, slid to the nurse and caught by me next to my left hip. It was crazy!!!

She's beautiful, looks just like her Daddy. We finally have one that looks like my DH! The others look like me ;)

Thanks for reading!

With Love and Hugs,
Joey

The Short Birth Story:

First contraction: 12:52 am.
Second contraction: 12:57 am.
No more contractions until after 1:20 am.
Bloody show at 2 am.
Called the doctor at 2:05am
Arrived at the hospital at 2:55 am
5-6 centimeters at 3:35 am
Admitted at 3:45 am
Doctor checked me at 4:15am- 9cm
Baby was born at 4:36 am.
In case you aren't good at math, that is 1 hour and 41 minutes from the time I arrived at the hospital until she was born.

Congratulations! I had one of my kids 6 minutes after arriving at the hospital....only 1 hour and 20 minutes after my first contraction. I wouldn't wish it quite THAT fast on anyone! Anyway, congrats on a beautiful baby, and love her name!

Congrats! She's gorgeous! I love her name, too :) I feel for you on the traumatic natural birth thing... my son did the exact thing. We videotaped his birth & he literally somersaulted out. In fact, he was born so fast that his little face got bruised and he had little raccoon eyes and looked like someone socked him, and he didn;t get all the fluid out of his lungs, so he had to stay in the hospital for a week and a half because he got pneumonia. Glad you didn;t have that happen. She's just to perfect!

She's adorable----neither of my two boys were fast at all.
First induced and it still took 8 hours.

Second was not induced and he showed a little sooner at 5 hours.
