 I live in Texas:  I love the bluebonnets covering the hwys and fields in the spring...
                         I love being close to the ocean
                         I love being able to have a outdoor bbq nearly all year long.

Absolutely!  This is the exact same things that I came up with but in a different order - The ocean would have been 1st for me.

   I can't think of 3... but it's home...

 In Kansas

1-experience all 4 seasons
2-not have to worry about earthquakes or hurricanes.  If there is a tornado I see it for miles away to take cover!!!
3-near family --but not TOO near

 Right now with the rough winter we have had, it is tough to think of 3 things - just kidding - I actually love this state.

 I reside in Texas. I love the hot weather. I love how there are several big cities in texas like Dallas, Houston, Austin. I like the fun amusement parks that are located all over Texas.

I love all the lakes and beautiful beaches.
The farmer's markets and festivals all summer long.
The Detroit Red Wings!
The great music that came out of the Detroit area.
Frankenmuth - one large Christmas town famous for it's chicken dinners and Bronner's xmas store.

 I love the broad diversity that exists in so many regions of our state - unquestioned differences that are just accepted as the way things are
I  love the green cities and open spaces
And I especially like the beautiful native plants and trees that are hanging in there with us still despite all our abuses

Other than having my family living within 10 miles or closer, what I love about my state:

1.  It only takes me about 45 min. to the beach & about 2 hours to the mountains
2.  We are the entertainment capital
3.  and more than #1 & #2 I love with passion that I can see my Los Angeles Dodgers as often as I want

 Ok, I'm having a really hard time with this because I'm not a HUGE fan of Missouri and am excited to move in a few months. So I figured I'd do both MIssouri and my home state of Connectcut!

Missouri:
I love the lower cost of living.
I love that it's the first state I've lived in where I can get Sweet Tea EVERYWHERE! I've become a sweet tea addict!
I love the safety and relaxed feel of the town I live in.

Connecticut:
You can be sitting on the beach with your feet in the ocean one hour and hiking dense mountains the next.
I love the seasons.
I love the history and connection to the land that it holds for me.

It is a pretty state
It's close to the cities (Boston, NY and Montreal)
No Sales or income tax

I live in West Virginia:
The people here are Wonderful, they will do anything for you - a nice and safe place to raise a Family
Our mountains are Beautiful, esp. Fall - the colors are awesome
So much to do in our State; ski, camping, hiking, fishing, white water rafting, train rides thru the mountains, I could name a whole lot more - West Virginia is one Beautiful State!!!!

 I live in Baltimore MD....

1.) Not more than 3 hours from the beach to the mountains for me

2.)  We have kickin seafood!

3.) Cool shopping areas and lots of restaurants.

 In Georgia-

It's almost as good as Texas, I can grow almost anything and we don't get snow this far south!

I'm only 30 minutes from Jacksonville Florida and 20 minutes from Fernadina Beach.

Cumberland Island is right down the street from where I live!

 I am VA.

- I love all the wineries.
- I love that there are mountains, rivers, and a coast for beaches.
- I love how close I am to the Smithsonian's.  (Not a state thing, but the part of the state that I am in.)

 Your list is making me miss Texas, but I do LOVE Georgia: 

Love all the trees
Love how friendly people are
Love being able to see so many different birds in my backyard

Grrrr, not a Connecticut fan.

1.  Snow days from school.
2.  Within a couple of hours from NYC, Boston, and the beach!
3.  Lots of cool historical sites (Dinosaur State Park, Charter Oak, Mystic Seaport, Underground Railroad houses, etc...)
