 Well I am on day 4 of strep throat.  I have not been this sick in a long time.  The Dr. said it is one of the worst cases of strep she has ever seen.  Lucky me.  Today is the first day I have been able to swallow liquids without immense pain.  Gosh...I would kill for some real food.  The only things I have been able to eat are soup, applesauce, and ice cream.  I'm going stir crazy from being at home.  ok...I think I am done whining now...lol.  I am praying that Elijanna doesn't come down with this as well.

 I had strep throat last spring. We litterly went to the docs office to get meds and left to go to Indiaina right afterwards. Talk about a horrible vacation...but, we had been planning to visit my brother in Indy for several months and hadn't been down to his home. (he moved while I was eight months pregnant, so we had to wait to have baby number three and then the weather turned bad).  I feel for you girl... (hugs)

Thanks ladies...I am totally going nuts.  I haven't done much but watch t.v. and sleep.  I am not sure what is worse the actual strep or the fever that came with it.  I was pushing 103 for a couple of days.  I am about to venture out to walmart to pick up one final prescription...joy oh joy.  It's only 9* outside.  Should be fun.

 I used to get strep throat at least 2-3 times a year. I have learned how to stop it from taking over.
When you feel even the slightest sore throat coming on- start gargling listerine.  I make sure I gargle at least 4-6 times a day. I gargle the icky brown listerine- it keeps the bacteria from taking over and helps kill some germs.  Also try drinking warm tea with 1/2 teaspoon of powdered cloves. cloves has a natural numbing agent.  Recently I heard that sugar helps with the suppression of coughing. Not sure if that would work.  I do know that a spoon ful of honey helps soothe the sore throat. But I do swear by the gargle of listerine. It works. It helps with the tonsil stones too.

Girl, I work at our local Urgent Care and know hwat your going through.  Did the Dr. give you a Z-pack.  That's the best antibotic works like magic in my opinion.  Feel better... I'm sending you cyber Chicken Soup with magic in it to help you eat... Hope it helps!
