I wanted to join once...but it's too expensive!
They are all VERY expensive. Not to mention they don't teach you HOW to eat correctly.
My advice would be to join Weight Watchers. I believe they have a no-nonsense program. And it won't empty your pocket book!

If life gives you lemons, go find an annoying person with paper cuts.
yeah it is pricey..but with school/stuff going on..least it's all figured out for ya know.. weight watchers..when i've tried. just seemed so complicated.. and having to figure out points etc etc.. though I do think it's a good program..

The only program I've done is Weight Watchers. You can join online and put in your food there and it will calculate the points for you. It's not too expensive, you just have to hold yourself accountable for weighing in every week

I'm just saying, Ally....most of those other programs are rip-offs. All they want to do is get your money.
The best thing for you is to learn how to eat right. It (the info) will remain with you for the rest of your life.

I had thought about Nutri System at one time just for convenience but I looked on QVC where people can rate products and their rating is not good. The ratings talk alot about the food being horrible and you would be better off buying Lean Cuisine at the grocery store. You could check that out and see what other people say. I have to lose weight also and agree with the others that Weight Watchers is a good program and it teaches you how to eat right. Don't know if that helps but thought you may like to look at the ratings on QVC

NS has discounts and stuff if you sign up for auto ship and refer friends etc. I have done both but I seem to like JC food more. Also, it seemed that I had to add a lot of outside food to NS and it was just to expensive for me in the long run.
But, they did work!
It worked better when I was single and there was absolutely no food in the house to eat other than the JC food.
Good Luck!

Nutri System was terrible, unless you like the taste of Chef Boyardee Spaghetti-o's sauce on EVERYTHING!!!
Even cheaper than Weight Watchers is sparkpeople.com --it's free!! I have very good results with it when I am really trying!!

After doing several different "weight loss" programs, the 2 main things to do is 1) exercise, doesn't have to be to a gym. Just walk, some kind of movement. 2) Is portion control. Both of these are from Weight Watchers. I know I am not best example for weight loss. I am just saying that without these 2 you won't lose any weight. My biggest problem I have is the exercise problem. I just don't get enough!!!!! If you don't have time for the exercising just walk around the block a couple of times. I was losing the weight when I walked ... I just have been so busy lately. I know for a fact both of these work because I "was" doing it. I don't think Jenny Craig is the answer ... toooooo expensive. The minute you go off, you will gain the weight back unless you learn "how" to eat. I will definitely get back on WW after the holidays because everything will slow down. That still isn't a great excuse ...
yeah. I kept reading on fitness forums that nutrisystem was bad.. definitely going to try jenny craig i'm pretty sure.

Hey Ally, long time no see!
Jenny Craig and others are probably good to jump start the weight lose. But Weight Watchers is probably your best bet. You can even do it on line. Its $16.95/month. Instead of the weekly fee!

I lost a little over 90 lbs (over 2 years) on WW. It really does work if you stick to it!

I've lost 67 lbs so far with WW. It's awesome! I started by totally dejunkifying my house. No chips, ice cream, etc to be a temptation on a regular basis. We keep lots of fruit and healthy snacks around. Once you learn the points, it's not that big of a deal. I'm a planner, so I sit down and plan for the day what I'm going to eat and try to stick with it. What I love about WW is that you have "extra" points each week to use as you see fit. If you're going to a party, out to eat, etc., you don't have to feel like you've blown it if you eat something extra (within your points, of course). If you're not into the cooking thing, you can get several fast meals with the WW points on them already at your regular grocery and they taste every bit as good (if not better) than the NS and JC stuff. What I like, too, is the on line tools. If you have a recipe that you want to make, you go in and plug all the ingredients in there by measurements, tell it how many servings you plan from the meal and it gives you the points per serving. AWESOME!
THis is sooo funnny that you just posted this! I was going to post a similar post!
I did Weight Watchers last year and did well on it....I lost 38 pounds. But then I could not get past that number...no matter how hard I tried...I was STUCK!!! So, I went off for a while, not going crazy with food, just did not count my points as regularly as I did. I see my weight creeping up a little and I am now ready to try something else.
In my church there are a group of girls that had been doing a Medifast diet. Kinda like Nutri System I guess. But they lost BIG TIME and quick! Now, one is on a maintainance diet weening herself off the Medifast food. I mean...my friend Lori lost 50 pounds in 4 months!!! She looks awesome! ANother friend lost 17 pounds in 4 weeks!
I just started today! Got my food yesterday. So wish me luck!
Weight watchers is awesome. But counting points for everything you eat gets old after a year. They do train you well on what to eat and what not to eat. Actually, I think there are downfalls to every diet. You just have to pick one that is doable for you. I think I am going to do this until I no longer see results. Then I will move onto another path.

I'd love to not have to worry about what to eat, but I think these programs are expensive.
