Question of the Day 9/15
Are you a registered voter???? Do you plan to vote in person or by mail (absentee ballot)?

This came about in out household this weekend because I vote by mail, because I never know if I will have the day off- my dh hates that I do that-- he doesnt feel like it is "real voting" -- he thinks I should actually try to get out of work early and go stand in line-- MEN!!!!

Yes, I'm registered. I go in person.
We don't have machines, LOL, we put an X in the box with a pencil & then dump em in the ballot box.

Re: Question of the Day 9/15
I'm a registered voter in Canada. I vote in person, usually getting there early in the day when the lines are shorter.

In Canada at least, employers are required by law to allow 3hrs paid leave to an employee so they may cast their ballot if they otherwise would not have at least three consecutive hours of available time to vote (example: polls are open from 9:30am - 9:30pm, but they work from 11am - 7pm, there is no full three hour timespan; in such cases, the employer can either allow the employee to leave early, arrive late, or provide them with three hours during the day to go cast their ballot). I think the only case where this doesn't apply here is if you're involved in the transportation of goods where allowing leave would affect said transportation, or a job where you're in the air or on the water. We also have advance polling stations, so if for some reason you're unable to attend on voting day (leaving the country, just want to get it over and done with, whatever), you can cast your ballot two weeks in advance.

I vote in every major election and always go in person unless I know I will be out of town.  My grandpa always told us we had to vote because if we didn't vote, we couldn't complain!!!  So true ;-)

I am a registered voter and vote in all elections, no matter how "small".  I also take my children with me, so that they can see how important it is.  We also talk about all the choices.  I really try to be fair when explaining it them.  Honest :winkb:

I'm a registered voter and always vote in person.  We now live in a small town and there is never a line to vote - my dh said to me the last time we voted "I bet you never thought you'd be voting in the middle of a bean field!"

They usually hold our elections at the fire station down the street, so there's eye candy and everything :winkb:
