We have Oscar, Bitsy, Tigger and Snoopy.Bitsy because she was such a little thing -- still is about 7 lbs, compared to 24 lb Snoopy.  My dad calls her 'Bitchy' because she is so temperamental.  :)Snoopy because he is black and white and as big as a dog.Tigger because he's Tiger striped and chased his tail (as opposed to bouncing on his tail)Oscar because he's ornery (and kind of grouchy)

Our cat is named Max. He had the name when we adopted him for the animal shelter and Emily liked it so we didn't change it.

Scrapgoo, I haven't in quite a while really. No time anymore! But I have tons of books both fictional and "non-fictional"  or at least as close as they really know to the truth anyway! hahaha! I even have some pictures on my wall of Guienevere with Arthur and Lancelot. Even some stamps that are King Arthur themed. Love it!

Sweet Cherry Pie

for those who have cats or have had them
No kitties here...we did have a beautiful calico named Pus puss and  a grey tabby named Buddy..dd named both of them...I wish they were here but my husband became allergic to Buddy as he grew up and Pus puss could not make the trip with us. When I was younger all my cats had names that began with S or C. I can not remember why...it started with Sirus Vance the Secretary of State..we had Cinder,Cider, Spiff (who loved to ride in cars) Space, Schroeder, Sputnik, Stand,Sorry, Spanky,Sammo, Satchmo,Sweetie, Corny, Cayman, Cool, just to name a few. I used to pick up strays and find them homes. The best cat I ever had was Spooky cat. black and white stray I had from a kitten. Our dogs raised him to be a puppy and my dh lost him in Seattle when we moved back to the states from Spain.

I'm fond of giving cats "asian-sounding" names.  We've had:Tao, Soo-Ling, Tai, and now Tia.  Tia is not Asian-sounding, and I didn't name her.

We have
Tiger Tarfoot....She's a bengal cat and has solid black feet on the bottom...
Sparkle - she was a spinoff name of my first cat (Twinkle) but she is completely the opposite of the sweet Twinkle....
Tubby - he's a Pixiebob (think domesticated bobcat...) He is huge!  DH favorite movie used to be Major Payne....His name came from there (1 tubby tubby, 2 tubby tubby....)

My cat, Twinkie, was orange and white (so he looked like a Twinkie and that's how he got his name). He passed away a year ago tomorrow (12/21/07) at the age of 17 from kidney failure. He was a great cat.My other cat, Sam, aka Sammy Girl, aka Samantha (she's a calico) got her name because I loved the name and if I was even close to getting pregnant back then, I'd have named my daughter that...but I thought for sure I'd have boys so I wanted that name somewhere in our family. She's now 17 years and 2 months old..and, guess what, I had two girls! LOLAfter Sam passes away, we will not be getting anymore cats. I love 'em but the catbox is starting to drive me nutty after all these years. :)

My last cat was Smokey and she was that lovely dark gray color that makes me think of soot and ashes but DH said no ashes and soot was black so we called her Smokey.  My kids called her Goodyear due to size.  She died this past April at age 16 of kidney failure.Growing up we always had old orange tomcats at our place.  They were called either Tommy or Mikey by my great uncle whom they belonged too.  We did have one of those lovely old blue grey short haired cats for 4-5years when I was a teen.  I named him  Bluey. I am very unoriginal in naming my pets.

I love old movies, so my cats are named Bogart (male brown tiger) and Bacall (white female).  My husband and I wanted to get two kittens so they would have each other for company while we were at work, and we wanted to give them "pair" names.  They were almost Fred and Ginger .  Someday I want to name one Hepburn (for Katherine Hepburn), so I can call it Hep Cat

Well our cat's name is not really and original one but he was our son's so we let him name him - our cat's name is Frisky. We also have a new Basset Hound that our son got for his birthday in December.  She is 18 weeks old.  Her name is Hokie.  She is named after the Virgina Tech Team Mascot Hokie Bird.

Molly: she was dumped at a pet store at 5 wks old with her litermates. I decided to take one.  While trying to think of  a name, my friend asked if she could name it Molly, because that was her favorite name for a girl and she knew her dh would never let her name a future child Molly....I didn't have a better idea, so it stuck.Rascal:  He was just honry from the get go, so we called him "little rascal" but as he got older and bigger, he just became Rascal. JT: (the dumbest cat alive) He was a shelter cat that we gave to my mom for Christmas 05.  She lives in a condo and the kitteh was too crazy for a condo, he needed to run. Now we have JT and didn't rename him.  He came from the shelter as "Freddy" but that was my moms ex-husbands name, so we changed it to JT (Jerry Two) as she had a kitteh when she was young named Jerry (my dads name) so this one was JErry two.

I always picked up strays when I was young, and brought them home. My dad named everyone of them "long gone" and I could never figure out why.  In the morning, the kittehs where always "gone" and my dad would say that they went home.  I soon realized "long gone" meant the kitteh was getting kicked out of the house while I slept.

We live on an acreage and have 10 cats - all tame, named, and mostly fixed.  Most of them adopted us.  Clark (half of Lewis and Clark when 2 kittens appeared), Spot (Star Trek's Data's cat), Tom, Lucky, Squirm, Spade, Shadow (because she follows you around like one), Tiller (named by a 4yo), Chocolate Pudding (also named by a 4yo), and Willow (named by a friend's daughter who gave her to us).
