Re: martha stewart and michaels

I just don't get the Martha craze.  I've watched her show a couple of times and it's really rather boring. She talks in a monotone and her hair keeps falling into her face. What's with that?  I usually walk straight past her stuff at Michael's. It just doesn't appeal to me.

Re: 3 yr old and fireworks??

3 yrs old is fine as long as you can leave if he gets scared.  Last year was the 1st year we actually got to GO see fireworks. My DD is 11 years old and has hated the noise all her life.  We tried earplugs and headphones a couple of times. They worked as long as we weren't close to the display.  My...

Re: Anyone's kids allergic to mosquito bites?

[quote="deerewife"] My dd has this issue.  Beware if the bites get really hard and hot, plus the fever exists - you may need antibiotics.  DD has had to be on them at least twice for bites. I swear that someone on here recommended Vicks Vapor Rub for bites - It really does seem to help. Je...

Re: fight with my dd school

Good for You!  My daughter is also the youngest in her class (Nov b-day). She started school in California where the cut-off is Dec 1st.  She's 8 and going into the 4th grade. She does okay academically, but you can definitely tell the difference when you compare her with her classmates.  Some are ...

Anyone's kids allergic to mosquito bites?

My DD is allergic to "skeeter" bites. We found out abruptly after moving to Houston several years ago and she woke up with her eye swollen shut. She was 2 then and she's 8 now. She still gets HUGE lumps (half dollar size) that are HOT to the touch. A few times she's had a low grade fever....

Re: What's for dinner?

My Dd has been bugging me to go to a Mexican restaurant. So, instead, we'll be making Enchiladas and Tacos at home. I'm on a diet and I can make them lower fat (and carbs). I'd eat WAY too much if we went out.

Re: Fearless Fourteen

I bought Fearless the day it came out! I LOVE JE books but I didn't think this one was as good as the others. It also seemed very short. It seemed like she just zipped this one out without much thought.  And it definitely didn't have enough Stephanie vs. Ranger segments.  :winkb:   Won't stop me fr...

Re: i think my dd is a nut

Oh how I WISH my DDs were a little like that.  Everything goes on the floor in this house. Nothing gets put away.  Cereal boxes and milk left on the table. Clothes on the floor right next to the hamper. Trash misses the trash can 99% of the time and stays where it lands.  Wet swim suits wadded up i...

Re: Does anyone know who Joe Zelek is?

That should be fun.  We were on vacation one time and we just happened to stumble across a filming of an old King Kong movie.  The extras were having to run screaming and of course at the time of the filming there was no King Kong there. It was fun to watch but I bet the extras got tired of all the...

Re: What tv commercial

I mostly record shows so I can zip right thru the commercials.  But, I'd say the most irritating commercials are the ones for Cialis.  They are way too long and I have to change the channel if my kids come into the room!
