Have you ever read any Andrew Greeley books?

I've heard of him but have never read any of his works. What would you suggest?? He is a rather prolific writer.

Re: ---->Great Books "Bingo" <---- HERE!!

I posted Like Water for Chocolate as a bonus word because it is one of those "dirty, little, secret pleasures". The writing is fantastic, but the passion and (sex :-D) is pretty darn nice too!!

Do you have any books like these that get your blood boiling?

So from my list of 100 books what percentage do you think you have read? I think I've read about 75-80% (unfortunately can only recall about 35% of what each are about) If only I had a memory!! I am impressed that you have read that many of them. I may be at about 40% I'll pretty much read anything...

Re: ---->Great Books "Bingo" <---- HERE!!

I just got The Alchemist as a gift a few months ago. Being in school, I don't have a lot of pleasure reading time but this book was a slow start. It seems very interesting though. I haven't finished it yet. It is very interesting - he definitely is a more serious writer. Get through it - it's worth...

I have to say - the writing is not the greatest, but boy Meyer's hit on a female chord. The books are addictive!! My sisters, sisters in law, girlfriends have all read them.

Re: ---->Great Books "Bingo" <---- HERE!!

I put March as a bonus book because the author, Geraldine Brooks, is now one of my favorite writers. I love her writing because she does a lot of leg work. Some of her other stories are A Year of Wonders and People of the Book!

So who is your favorite author??

Re: ---->Great Books "Bingo" <---- HERE!!

I would rather read a book but I like listening to them when traveling and driving. Me, also I seem to get more out of the books when I read them rather than listen to them. I seem to have so many distractions when I am just listening and doing other things at the same time. Who is she?? I haven't ...

Definately read them. That is why I haven't caved and bought a Kindle yet. I love to actually have the book in my hand. I also have the Historian, but haven't read it yet. I am bad about going into the bookstore and buying 5-10 books at a time, and then forgetting about them. I have a basket of boo...
